We are so excited about Cooking Crusaders Summer Camp this summer at American Autism and Rehabilitation Center! Campers do not need a diagnosis to participate.
Cooking Crusaders is a program designed for 7 to 12 year-olds who are anxious around, or have difficulty accepting, a wide variety of foods. During the week, our master chefs will have a fun time learning about and interacting with food. Children will discover the many ways foods can be prepared and eaten while exploring the sensory properties of the food. With the help of our experienced therapists-turned-sous-chefs, children will have the chance to prepare food by using a variety of kitchen appliances and cooking methods. After cooking, children will be given the opportunity to taste and eat their beautiful creations! Our Cooking Crusaders program is a fantastic way for children to feel more comfortable in the kitchen, decrease anxiety surrounding food, and build confidence with positive experiences and peer models. We can’t wait for this research-based, exciting week!
